Widtsoe Screening Enterprises LLC, doing business as BackChecked (“BackChecked,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), values privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit backchecked.com and any related public-facing BackChecked web pages that link to this Privacy Policy (the “Site”).

This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site. It does not, by itself, govern customer data, applicant data, screening data, or other information processed within BackChecked’s platform, customer environments, or customer-specific screening workflows. Those activities may be governed by separate customer agreements, confidentiality obligations, platform terms, data processing terms, and customer instructions.

1. Information We Collect

We collect a limited amount of information through the Site, including the following categories:

Information you provide directly

If you contact us by email, phone, or another method linked from the Site, we may receive information such as:

your name
your email address
your phone number
your company name
the contents of your message or inquiry

You are not required to create an account to browse the Site, and the Site does not currently provide public self-service account registration.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our infrastructure providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, such as:

operating system and device information
referring URL
pages requested
date and time of requests
request identifiers, response status codes, and similar diagnostic information

This information is typically collected through standard web server logs, security tooling, and content delivery/network protection services used to operate and defend the Site.

2. How We Use Information

We do not use Site information for sale to data brokers, and we do not use public Site traffic data to build advertising profiles for third-party marketing.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site is a largely static website and does not currently use a full analytics or advertising stack. However, like most websites, the Site and the services used to secure and deliver it may use cookies, similar technologies, or local browser storage where reasonably necessary for:

fraud and abuse prevention
basic delivery and performance functions
remembering your appearance preference, such as light or dark mode

Depending on the services enabled at a given time, infrastructure or security providers may set or read cookies or similar identifiers to distinguish legitimate visitors from malicious traffic, apply rate limiting or security rules, and improve delivery of the Site.

Most browsers let you control cookies through browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect Site availability or security-related functionality.

At this time, the Site is not configured to respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals in a standardized way. Because standards for such signals have not been uniformly adopted, we instead describe our current data practices in this Privacy Policy.

4. Security and Infrastructure Providers

We use third-party service providers to host, secure, and deliver the Site and related communications. Those providers may process technical and personal information on our behalf for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

DNS, security, and traffic management providers

We use third-party infrastructure and network security providers to support DNS resolution, traffic routing, threat detection, and web application protection. Those providers may process request and connection metadata relating to traffic to and from the Site in order to:

Based on our current configuration and the nature of those services, this may include logging and analysis of request attributes such as IP address, URL path, headers, timestamps, user agent, DNS request information, and security rule outcomes. In some cases, security tooling may also retain records of blocked, challenged, or otherwise mitigated requests.

Hosting and other service providers

Our websites are hosted on infrastructure that we control. We may also use service providers for:

email handling
DNS and network operations
backup, logging, and system administration

We limit provider access to information as reasonably necessary for those services.

5. Analytics and Advertising

The Site is not currently configured to use a full third-party marketing or advertising stack. We may review operational, security, or traffic information to understand basic site performance, reliability, abuse patterns, and usage trends, but the Site is not currently configured to run third-party advertising, retargeting, or cross-site behavioral advertising tools.

If that changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

We may disclose information collected through the Site:

to service providers and contractors that support hosting, security, communications, or operations
to professional advisors such as lawyers, auditors, insurers, and accountants where reasonably necessary
