The company was organized in October of 2002, after a six month research and development phase. BackChecked is dedicated, exclusively, to the task of providing state of the art systems technology to growing background screening firms. BackChecked has no outside investors and no debt.

John Kloos has over thirty years of experience in high-tech product development, marketing, business development and sales. He has held senior management positions with both large companies and start-up enterprises. He has extensive experience with mainframes, high availability systems, reengineering, internet commerce and security. In April of 2005, Mr. Kloos was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), serving a two year term. He is also a past Co-Chair of the Provider Committee. Currently, he Co-Chairs the Data Breach Prevention Sub-committee of Best Practices. Mr. Kloos earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Randy Cummings has over thirty years of experience in software development, support, and systems engineering. He has developed leading-edge systems in a variety of industries, including brokerage, hospitality, credit, insurance and transportation. He began developing web based systems in 1991. In 1990, Mr. Cummings developed a full-function in-house system for one of the pioneers in professional background screening. This client utilized the system until implementing BackChecked in 2003. Mr. Cummings earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University.

Mike Peters has over twenty-nine years of experience in Enterprise Information Technology, having supported mission critical systems in industries as diverse as banking, telephony, and internet content delivery.  He has particular expertise in Customer Service, IT infrastructure strategy & architecture including network technologies and system security.   Prior to joining BackChecked, Mr. Peters was employed by Computer Associates where he focused on IT Service Management. He has also held key technical and technology leadership positions with Cisco Systems, Stratus Computer, Wells Fargo, and GoDaddy.   Mr. Peters earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University.
